STUDENTI FORTUNATO

Venosa trip

On Friday 6th May 2022 we were able to see the attractions in Venosa city. Our first target were ruins and the building of a historic church. We could hear about the history behind it and get shocked when we heard how old it was (first foundations are dated to the 5th century!). Amazing paintings and mosaics made a great impression on us, like the story about Hauteville Tomb and his wife who were buried there.

Then we went to the castle which was a really impressive experience. The architecture was breathtaking. We learned many things about the story of people who were there before, because inside the building was also the National Archaeological Museum. The exhibitions of antique items were really interesting.

Next we went to the house where philosopher Horace was born. It was a really strange feeling to stand in the same place, where the man about who we are learning in school was. We could see there an exhibition made by students from a local school.

Our Italian friends were with us throughout the entire trip, so when we got some free time in the city, we decided to go get some coffee together in a cafe nearby. Then we went on a small walk around, and our mates showed us a very popular places.

When we came back we went to get ourselves dinner and after that started walking around Rionero again.

The day was really exhausting but also we absolutely loved it.
